Student Council at the Town Council table
This week, four members of the Student Council had the privilege of taking their seats at the Town Council table to champion five deserving community causes, bidding for a share of £6,500 in funding.
On Tuesday evening, Tillie Hancock, Sid Tickell, Alfie Lilley and Oliver Oakley presented their proposals to the full Town Council, making the case for why Looe Girls Football Team, Boundless Trust Youth Club, Rikki's Boxing, CrossFit, and the Skate Park should all receive a share of the funding.
These community groups were selected through our Student Voice activities, ensuring that the projects reflected the priorities and passions of our young people.
Our students spoke with confidence, passion and conviction. They also had to respond to questions and opposition from some council members, standing up for the causes they believed in with maturity and resilience.
It was a real honour to watch them in action and to see them represent our school and community so positively.
If you see Tillie, Sid, Alfie or Oliver, please take a moment to congratulate them—they did us all proud!
