Teachers Steps in to Inspire

Teachers taking Steps in the Right Direction to Inspire Learners who have Exceptional Futures!
At Looe Community Academy, we are committed to having Great Teachers in every classroom!
Teachers at LCA really do follow the mantra to 'Be the Best they Can Be' ! We are all lifelong learners and want to continue to learn and improve, just as we encourage our pupils to do!
We have this year committed to developing a coaching approach to support teachers with their day-to-day practice, working in partnership with the Ted Wragg Trust to quality assure our implementation through our Step Lab platform.
Setting up coaching over the first term has already led to small but positive steps forward, and with ongoing intensive training and expert guidance, this work will continue to strengthen and accelerate.
Teachers access fortnightly coaching, weekly professional development as a team learning through Recap - Model - Practice (rehearse), as well as subject-specific guidance from heads of department or specialist leaders.
We have also been hugely grateful for the support and inspiration from Mary Myatt assisting with curriculum refinement and development in relation to intentional sequencing and implementation.
This approach helps ensure that high-quality teaching and learning remain at the heart of everything we do because we are here in the privileged positions; to help improve the life chances of every child, we have the pleasure of teaching.
We look forward to sharing further development of our teacher development impacting on learner outcomes.
Our aim is to help teachers every step of the way to be the inspiration in the classroom that assists our inspired learners to have exceptional futures.
Mrs Jackman and Mr Kevern.
